Why the Flashman System was invented

The patented Flashman Window and Door Flashing System is proudly NZ owned. The System was designed by New Zealanders for our unique and demanding climate. The flashings are factory fabricated to precisely fit each individual window or door and then installed exclusively by Flashman Distributor/Installers, providing an advanced flashing system far superior to the NZ Building Code Minimum standard requirements.

2. Houses and buildings are still being constructed today using sealants as the main method of flashing around windows and doors. Improper use of sealants is the direct cause of many very expensive remedial repairs.

Benefits to the Window Manufacturer

• For the first time since the introduction of aluminium joinery in NZ approx 40 years ago, there is now a robust, long term Flashing System specifically designed and tested to vercome the problematic aluminium joinery to cladding junction.
• The Flashman Flashing System Branz Appraisal No 573, is supplied and installed only by Flashman distributors and comes with a 15 year product warranty and a 10 year installation warranty. The System is tested and approved up to wind speeds of 232 kph (Very high wind speed is180Kph.) and is rated Specific Engineered Design with a ULS window pressure of 2.5Kpa.
• Flashman provides a Complete Flashing System comprising a one piece Cavity Head and closure, Jamb and Support Sill removing the need and the associated risk for the aluminium manufacturer of supplying flashings. (Wanz support bars are not required)
• If the window mitres were to leak for any reason, the Flashman Mitre Soaker protects the window manufacturer by directing the water to the back of the cladding where it is harmlessly dispersed down the cavity.
• When the Flashman System is used, there is only one reveal size required for any cavity size, regardless of the cladding used. This feature reduces inevitable manufacturing mistakes and costly time delays. Flashman is a proven System which provides aluminium manufacturers with litigation protection by greatly reducing the possibility of involvement with troublesome flashing detailing around windows and doors.
• Specified on new homes, leaky home remediation projects by weathertightness experts and contractors, multi apartments, rest homes, hospitals, commercial buildings, schools and high rise tower blocks.
